Venus is bright enough to be sometimes seen during the day without binoculars or a telescope. Like the Moon, it is capable of showing its crescent phase.

This picture was taken in Budapest, Hungary in 2004, when the Moon and Venus shared a similar crescent phase for a few minutes.

Kailash Singh, a 65 year old farmer, has not bathed or cut his hair since 1974. He stopped washing or cutting hair soon after he married, when a local priest told him this would help him to have a son. Sadly, the man has had 7 daughters since then and not a single son.

The 11-meter high statue known as The Middle Finger is created by the Italian contemporary artist Maurizio Cattelan, whose provocative works also include a sculpture of Pope John Paul being hit by a meteorite. The sculptor granted the statue to the city of Milan on the condition that it would always remain in front of the Stock Exchange building.

Despite the installation has fuelled criticism among local politicians and intellectuals who are calling to remove it, Milan city council has decided to keep the statue where it is at least until May 2012. According to Stefano Boeri – Milan city planner – most Milanese want to keep the sculpture because it makes them think and provokes controversial emotions.

I’d keep it for honesty.
