A human body can be converted into 17 kilograms of oil

April 17, 2012

Back in 2003, a Philadelphia-based company Changing World Technologies created a machine that turns waste into oil and other useful substances. According to the company, they can thermally depolymerise a 79-kilogram (176 pounds) human body into 17 kilograms (38 pounds) of oil, 3 kilograms (7 pounds) of gas, and 3 kilograms of minerals. The remaining 56 kilograms (123 pounds) turn into sterilized water.
