Apparently, it is is not unusual among smugglers of exotic creatures to hide the animals in their pants. This Dutch traveler tried to hide a bunch of hummingbirds in his pants to smuggle them from one county into another. Acting suspiciously, the man was searched by the officers at the customs in Rochambeau airport in Cayenne, French Guiana.

They discovered over a dozen hummingbirds carefully placed into tiny pockets inside the man’s pants.

Each bird was carefully wrapped into a cloth to prevent disturbances and escape attempts.

Luckily, all birds survived – perhaps due to the fact that it was not the first time the man tried to smuggle hummingbirds. Two years prior to this event, the man was caught with 53 hummingbirds stuffed into his pants in the same airport.

Those poor birds, I wonder what happened to them afterwards.
