This is a page from an old Irish Catholic schoolbook. It teaches children about God’s hierarchy of love. Particularly, it implies that God loves babtized babies more than non-babtized babies. Do you agree?

That’s Satanic.
Even as a child I would have said that he loves all equally and if he doesn’t then he’s not much of a god. Strabismus is right. What were they trying to teach the kids? Not the truth, but that the church is the gateway to god. Powerplays!
I’ve been a cradle Catholic these last 30 years, and all I can say is, I promise you, in those 30 years, I’ve NEVER been taught such a thing. Perhaps this was the easiest way to teach children at the time, to show how important Baptism is. But the idea that God loves someone LESS because they haven’t been baptized (especially a child who depends on others for their education) is absurd. An interesting look back on how children used to be taught. Sadly I’m sure there is ignorance in places still today where sentiments like this are still upheld. The Church works to ensure that this is not the case.
