Sony together with the film making crew of the Priest Movie in 3D created a clever marketing campaign. They decided to outsource creation of the movie trailer to three selected students from London’s Westminster film school. Having produced the trailers, all three flew to Los Angeles to present the trailers directly to the crew. One of the students was selected as the winner. I am pretty sure the winning trailer will go alongside the official trailer. Josh, the winner, was asked to stick around in Hollywood and pursue his dream of movie making. This is an example of a good way to engage the audience prior to film release and a good way to market a film at the same time, well done Sony.
Should all trailers be produced by movie fans moving forward? Trailers to people!
