Boroughs of London compete with each other for tourists

April 23, 2011

I went to Wembley stadium in London this afternoon and saw a banner that promotes Brent, part of London, as a tourist destination. This means it is likely there is a separate budget allocated for each part of London for tourism promotion. It’s pretty cool that each part of the city accounts for its own budget – accountability for tourist numbers rests with each borough as opposed to central authority. I will not be surprised if boroughs compete against each other in torist attraction within one and the same city – capitalism in its pure form.
