I live in one of the safest areas in London. Today I learned, however, that it is only safe in relation to other areas, while it is not so safe overall. Apparently, there were 1029 crimes committed in my area in December alone, of which 119 were violent crimes including assaults, harassement and grievous bodily harm. The area I refer to is about 3 miles around my house. This information is provided by the police who track and map all reported crimes. This is how I discovered the surprisingly high level of crime in my area. I better pay more attention moving forward. Here are crime levels in Camden, a popular London destination among tourists.
